Most people think of Puerto Vallarta as an ultimate resort location—it is best known for its popular beaches, water sports, and the exciting nightlife scene.

While it is filled with adventurous activities alongside the beautiful Pacific coast, it is also filled with the most incredible landmarks everyone MUST have on their PV bucket list.

Whether you are new to town, or have lived here for a while…these are the three must-visit sites in Puerto Vallarta:

  1. The Los Arcos Amphitheater

According to many travel websites, the Los Arcos Amphitheater is one of the most iconic landmarks of Puerto Vallarta. It is located just at the south end of the Malecon, right off the main plaza. It has a row of four grand stone arches in the oceanfront square of Plaza Morelos that also serves as an outside amphitheater. Visitors can expect to spend a couple hours enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean, sand sculptures, statues, and various art pieces. If you happen to go during the weekend, you can also enjoy free entertainment from street and cultural performers!

  1. Church of Our Lady Guadalupe

The Church of Our Lady Guadalupe is one of the most visited places in Puerto Vallarta. To some, it is even known as “the symbol of the city.” It is located right across from the Los Arcos Amphitheater. You can find it’s beautiful architecture and famous crown in countless postcards, shirts, and photos of PV. Not only is the exterior absolutely breath taking, but inside of the church there are many paintings and sculptures made out of wood and marble. This is definitely one of the most Instagram-worthy locations in PV!

  1. Conchas Chinas Beach

3 Must Visit Sites In Puerto Vallarta 3

Conchas Chinas Beach (aka Chinese Shells Beach) is probably one of Puerto Vallarta’s best-kept secrets. This is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in PV as it is located between the forest and the mountains and just 5 minutes from downtown. It has crystal blue green waters, light sand, and many tide pools where you can find starfish, sand crabs, and small fish. If you’re looking to just enjoy the peace and quiet of PV, this is the place to be. Unlike PV’s most popular beach – Playa Los Muertos—you will not find many tourists or beach vendors at this location.  It also has some of the calmest waters in the bay!

Puerto Vallarta has got a little bit of everything for whatever your heart desires; beautiful beaches, entertainment, sports, and photo-worthy landmarks. It’s no question why so many folks are choosing to call this their new home.

Are you thinking of purchasing property in PV? The process of buying a home here in the greater Puerto Vallarta area isn’t dramatically different from purchasing a home in the United States or Canada, but there are a few minor differences worth knowing.
