As part of our ongoing series on the neighborhoods of Banderas Bay, this week we are talking about Mismaloya, a serene beach paradise just 15 minutes from all the services and amenities of Old Town Puerto Vallarta.

Mismaloya means “place to fish with your hands” in the language of the Nahuatl people, so it is no surprise the area began as a small fishing village and still to this day, fishing is an important part of the area economy.  But this sleepy village has grown to include some of the most incredible villas, condos and homes for sale in the Banderas Bay region without losing the tranquility and feel of the neighborhood.

Homes here offer incredible vistas across the Pacific Ocean, including the famous Los Arcos Marine Park, as well as lush Sierra Madre jungle views.  Lifestyle amenities include jet skiing, parasailing, snorkeling and diving at Los Arcos Marine Park, taking water taxis to explore the south beaches like Yelapa and Las Animas (or hiking to those beaches on the challenging mountain trail), horseback riding, ATV tours, or enjoying that local fish from one of the Mismaloya beach restaurants.

If you are looking for laidback but luxurious oceanfront living that lets you get away from it all but still have all the convenience you need just a few minutes away, Mismaloya may be your perfect neighborhood in the Puerto Vallarta area.
