Our town is a marvelous city for foodies, with fine dining restaurants, delicious taco stands and family restaurants that have literally been passed down through generations. But, from time to time, it’s nice to escape our charming little city by the sea atmosphere and have a big city experience. Welcome to La Madalena.
La Madalena restaurant is a contemporary steakhouse, the second opened by a Nayarit restaurateur, who has brought the very successful concept from Tepic, here to Puerto Vallarta. Located in the Hotel Zone, you may have noticed La Madelena for its truly massive video screen (which is used to screen sports on big game nights and quirky videos of animals and cityscapes at other times). La Madelena is a place to see and been seen, with a sophisticated and hip interior and well-heeled patrons enjoying some of the best cocktails in town, many fetched from the “bottle angels” who are hoisted on straps to grab bottles from the shelves which stretch up all the way to the ceiling. It’s certainly a new twist on the term “top shelf liquor”.
La Madalena serves steakhouse cuisine and a haute twist on traditional cantina fare. Add in specialty cocktail carts, churro and ice cream sundae carts, sauce carts and other specialty carts that circle table to table, and you have a dining concept that is quite unique in Vallarta. Recently, the Puerto Vallarta restaurant has added a supervised children’s play area as well, so parents can enjoy a night out even without a babysitter.
La Madalena is open daily for lunch and dinner and reservations can be made by calling 322 245 1596 of via Opentable online.
