If you love a little exploring, you will love the “Off-Road Adventures” where you explore a Mexican Village and go on a Sierra Madre Hike. You start by meeting your guide at a central location, and hop on board an all-wheel drive truck that will take you through the Sierra Madre Mountains. Not only will you ride along the rugged terrain, but also you will even get splashed through the rivers along the way! The best part of this trip is that you will visit a traditional Mexican village, and will be able to try freshly prepared snacks before going on a short hike. You finish your day on the coast for a beachside lunch. This will be an unforgettable experience where you will be able to learn so much about the culture. Talk about an adventurous day!

If you love shopping, you will definitely love all the little eclectic stores and unique shops this side of Mexico has to offer. The first thing you will notice about the local shopping experience is that this area is strong with local artisans. Aside from the shops in the streets, the Farmer’s Market is a must-visit. The vendors have handi-crafts, organic products, home-cooked meals, locally designed clothes, jewelry, and various types of art. Locals love the market’s friendly and casual atmosphere.  You can even make a day of it as the market has local musicians in various locations and food stands so you can stop and take a bite.

For the beach lover:

You may notice that the beaches in Riviera Nayarit might get a little crowded since it is such a tourist attraction. If you ever want to get away from the masses, you should visit Playas Los Muertos (“Beach of the Dead”). It is a hidden gem of a beach. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the main beach in Sayulita (past the Villa Amor Hotel), and before you enter you will walk past an ornate cemetery (hence the name).  Locals say that it might be the best beach in Sayulita because it has white sand, clean blue waters, and calm waves.  It’s a great place to unwind after a busy week because it truly is a little bit of paradise.
